Synopsis: The artists formerly known as ISIS remain trapped in the palace of Senor Presidente, Gustavo Calderon in the Central American country of San Marcos, but each find themselves in a variety of predicaments that only they can get themselves into – or out.

Details: Archer finds himself imprisoned in the dungeon cells of the presidential palace along with Senor Presidente himself, Gustavo Calderon [Fred Armisen] and his wife, Juliana [Lauren Cohan]. This is because Cyril has been appointed/taken over as leader of the Central American country of San Marcos due to his military strategy prowess.

Cyril, however, has decided that he would like to marry Juliana and has Juliana released and Cherlene tossed into her cell instead. Since they look similar, animation-wise, this works out fine until Cherlene reveals that she has a key tucked away and – oh lookee! – it just happens to be for the locks on their three cells. Once she frees Archer and Gustavo Calderon, the trio devise a plan which almost immediately includes driving off in one of the exotic cars from Gustavo Calderon’s collection – because this is deemed the fastest way to get to the rebels so they can join them and crush Cyril.

Once Archer, Cherlene and Gustavo escape, we revert back to the palace where Cyril is finalizing his vows with Juliana and Pam finally admits she is addicted to cocaine through a lengthy scene discussing cocaine-laced food-and-drink options. Meanwhile, the Krieger clones have decided to launch a giant nerve gas missiles against their oppressors [though we never are told who they are] and the real Krieger foils this plot by killing all three.

Archer, Cherlene and Gustavo make it to Gustavo’s private zoo compound where Cherlene inexplicably releases a tiger which then eats Gustavo Calderon. Archer and Cherlene then travel to the rebel base where, upon arrival, Archer is knocked out by the rebels.

The real Krieger attempts to convince the remaining artists formerly known as ISIS that he is the real Krieger and he has killed the clones and they need to shut off the nerve gas missile launcher. Ray gives it a shot but only succeeds in accelerating the countdown in the launch sequence.

The very pregnant Lana takes off for the airport to retrieve Archer to help them escape San Marcos but before she arrives, Archer and Cherlene discover that the rebels are really the CIA and not the FBI or drug lords – whereupon Lana’s water promptly breaks.

The real Krieger - with the fire extinguisher - kills off his three Krieger clones before they can launch the nerve gas-filled missile.

The Poop and Skinny: Top four things to remember from this episode…

Archer has been imprisoned for three weeks – is this enough time to grow the full beard and mustache he displays in this episode from his well-known clean-shaven base? Seems like he was on facial hair steroids [which would be totally unsurprising]

Outlaw Country!

Two more cars from Gustavo Calderon’s automobile collection make their appearances as escape vehicles and both are difficult to identify with one appearing to be either a Lamborghini Countach or Dome Zero and the other possibly being a Ferrari.

Doppel-Kriegers!

A Star Wars/ rabbinical school crossover debate is thoughtfully included in this week’s episode.

Only one slap fight in this episode – with Ray administering it and Pam on the receiving end of a well-deserved slapping.

Regrettably, Season Five of “Archer” [or “Archer Vice” if you prefer] concludes with next week’s finale entitled “Arrivals/Departures”

The coveted TZ Best Line of the Episode Award goes to Pam, for her explanation of the coca leaf smoothie – “It smells like a fart of itself.”
